Het Gooi is the area around Hilversum in the centre of the Netherlands, 30 kilometres of Amsterdam and 20 kilometres to Utrecht. It is surrounded by heath land, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages like Bussum, Naarden, Huizen and Laren. It is a slightly hilly area characterized by its green areas, its historical charm, the wealth of its inhabitants and its villas. Regional buses and trains depart from the Central Station to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort and Almere. The International School is situated in Hilversum.
